The Tragic Story

The tragic story

The tragic death of David occurred in August last year (2017), during an operational training flight, due to a critical technical malfunction in his helicopter.  David bravely managed to bring the helicopter back to base despite extreme conditions caused by the malfunction. He died during the crash, while trying to safely land the helicopter. His bravery and skills managed to save the life of his co-pilot. He was 43 years old when he died.

Throughout his life he implemented values of contribution to his community, giving to others, and promoting excellency.
We, as a team, act upon the same values.
That is why, together with his family and Elbit Systems, we decided that the Galaxia team will be named in memory of David Zohar.

We are proud to carry his name and be part of the David's Commemoration.
