DAVID ZOHAR
About David Zohar
David Zohar, a husband and a loving father of four.
He was also a leading and dedicated VP at Elbit Systems.
Major (in reserve duty) David Zohar served as a skilled Apache combat helicopter pilot in the Israeli Air Force.
As part of his service he took part in mentoring young pilots, as well as attending many combat activities, defending Israeli troops and citizens.
David Zohar and Our School
David was born and raised in Haifa, he is an alumni of the Hebrew Reali School, our school.
His children also attend our school. As a parent he invested his time and effort to promote the school in many ways.
He was the chairman of the PTA, a mentor for FIRST FLL teams and more.
The Tragic Story
The tragic death of David occurred in August last year (2017), during an operational training flight, due to a critical technical malfunction in his helicopter. David bravely managed to bring the helicopter back to base despite extreme conditions caused by the malfunction. He died during the crash, while trying to safely land the helicopter. His bravery and skills managed to save the life of his co-pilot. He was 43 years old when he died.

Throughout his life he implemented values of contribution to his community, giving to others, and promoting excellency.
We, as a team, act upon the same values.
That is why, together with his family and Elbit Systems, we decided that the Galaxia team will be named in memory of David Zohar.
We are proud to carry his name and be part of the David's Commemoration.
